A miracle has happened....

After a lot of postponing (busy, busy, busy...) I finally updated this section of my website. Yes it is true, this is not a dream, it really happened. For those who have been waiting and e-mailing me so many times, asking me to please update this tutorial section, here you go: A new step by step is online! After all, a promise is a promise.

The article in question - Stone - is a straightforward illustration that deals with basic techniques. I think it is quite suitable for everyone who likes to play around with paint, regardless whether or not the person in question is experienced. I hope you enjoy it. If you do, you're welcome to drop me a note. If you don't like it or worse even, if you hate it, you're still welcome to drop me a note.

Busy busy busy means that I am... well, quite busy, and that is a good thing for you as well, because most of my work is still extensively documented. The raw material for future articles is piling up, and I promise to do my best to make sure that the next update of this section doesn't take as long. In the meantime, look around and enjoy...

Marissa -

This simple illustration was designed to learn about stone textures. It has been published several years ago in Airbrush Art + Action and because of the subject matter, it became quite popular. The text is re-written to provide a better insight into coping with various materials to achieve certain effects. Due to it's simple and detailled approach, it is ideal for beginners, and a good example of some of the subject matter that will be dealt with during some of the workshops.

This painting has been published as a tutorial in ART SCENE INTERNATIONAL magazine, issue 5/2004. No less than 31 photo's and explanatory text describe, in detail, how this painting was made from start to finish. The idea was to provide the reader with an overall, yet detailed insight into some of the techniques I use to create my portraits. Various aspects which are merely touched upon within this article, will be discussed in more detail in future articles.
